(Another story stolen shamelessly from Vortex...)
The Polo Special:

Link to the Vortex thread:

Sounds a bit like a German-only model to me - I mean we have all those features, other than the paint colours and this:
the Polo Special is also fitted with an MP3 radio system from Volkswagen Individual.
Anyone know anything about it? It interests me muchly....
Deek.

Interesting....!
Now what interests me is:

Didn't those "spy shots" we had have funny looking black sills?
The wheels are the same too

Ahhh, this is why I was finding parts listed on ETKA for the 'Special' model
Looks VERY nice, hope they bring it to the UK!

Not much, only door sill protectors with the 'Special' logo, I didn't really take much notice to them because I thought they would be in tacky font (as most special edition cars are).
I dunno though, looking at that picture it could be quite classy!
@ mole: black painted sills were standard on early 9n's but taken off nearly straight away (see 9n brochure
)

So are they clearing old stock?

Seen some pics of the MP3 player - don't hold your breath as it does not look OEM. It looks like a Becker unit, and protudes from the dash somewhat.

I couldn't be arsed to copy and load in the pic, The steering wheel looks much better with the silver trim.
Another mod for Nelson me thinks. I imagine you could just order the silver trim and then fit it to the wheel yourself.
BTW, are those silver pedals unique to the 'Special' or just R32/GTi copies?

Nah, you'd probably need a whole new steering wheel for that (not something I could afford at the moment with two cars!)
Those pedals are the Polo Fun pedals, they fit straight on the standard pedals (unlike TT/R32 ones) but they are VERY expensive
