I have been reading about vag-com which allows the connection of PC to car to read settings and fault codes.

Does anyone know if this is compatable with the 9N ??

And where the socket located ??

Thanks

I have seen many different cables on sale on ebay -- all slightly different.
Question is which one works with 9N and where doe sone get the s/w from ?

I just got mine and love to find out what's going on under the bonnet

all the info you need here. The original (and no doubt the best) is cheap enough so dont waste your money on ebay.

Thanks RichardBW. Looked at Ross-Tech. Did not see Polos listed to figure out which one of the 3 cable types would work with a 2003 9N Polo:

1. The KEY-Series (Compatible with older cars that don't use CAN).
2. The Micro-CAN (Supports latest cars which require a direct CAN connection for Cars based on Mk.5 technology only -- not sure what that means).
3. HEX+CAN Series that seems to support all car types

The confusing bit is they are selling for miminum of $229 (dollars) fo the cable whereas the eBAY ones are £17 (pounds sterling) -- big difference. Why ?

Thats what confused me ???

There are a few different interfaces but how do i find out which one fits 9N ??

Vag-com is apparently free to download off certain websites.
I suppose they are older versions not the latest.

Thanks
