9N Suspension

Hi

Do any of u know if the all the 9N polo`s (playa and classic) have the individual rear suspension setup? (where the coil sits independantly next the shock)

I have a 9n classic and was looking at a set of coilovers but our supplier here in South Africa can only get me a set that are full coilovers in the front (lower up to 60mm) and the rear are not height adjustable (due to the suspension setup at the rear).

Im looking for a setup so that i can slam it to the floor for shows etc . Tried awsomegti`s site and venom motorsport but according to the specs of some of the kits they supply, they only go down to 70mm max.

as far as i know, the rear suspension of all 9n's have separate shock and springs unlike the front. I haven't heard of a coilover kit that is height adjustable in the front but not adjustable in the rear, they must have a spring base on which the spring sits that you adjust the height with. What brand is this set your supplier is selling?

I suggest you look around for other makes of coilover kits, KW, H&R, FK and Eibach are the leading coilover manufacturers in Europe. All of these sets have height adjustable rear components. If you literally want to slam it to the floor, you may be in need of airbag suspension, which costs a lot more than coilover kits.

He can supply all the top brands but the kit i was looking at is a locally produced one with Koni inserts. The international brands are way more expensive and im looking at bringing in a set on my own cos it might work out cheaper than buying it thru him.

Do u have coilovers on your car?

The rears are independant - i.e. seperate springs and shocks.

I have seen some kits that have just front adjustable coilovers - think they were Supersport but I have been told they are very bad quality and very harsh too!

I have FK coilovers and they are adjustable front and back. The rears are independant and its adjusted by having a adjustable collar on the bottom flatform where the spring sits on. My rear I would say is about 65-70mm.

To get it even lower, you can just fit the spring on the existing standard bottom spring platform, or you could remove the adjuster collars which I assume would be a little risky to do! - but even with this it will only bring it down 5-10mm max if that?!
