need help with 1.4tdi engine block

Post by logistix »

hello guys, i need some help here. i washed my engine bay yesterday using TurtleWax engine cleaning solution. the result is fantastic, however as i was wiping the engine block i noticed a potential problem. i was afraid the block was damaged by the cold water, but i found this picture from months ago which shows the same problem.

can anyone identify what this is, it seems as if something was supposed to be there but it cracked and fell off. can anyone with the 1.4tdi engine please take a look at this region if they have some time?
i would appreciate your help
cheers
