Suspension Qs

Post by nrtnm »

Hi! I'm new here, got my polo last week and already have a list of mods for it :D

I want to get coilovers first. I've been thinking about Evo kit from PhilJ of club polo. But remember someone saying that KW's are absolutely amazing. So I was wondering is the price difference justifiable?

Also what else should I get changed regarding suspension. I was browsing through the forum and it seems it would be a good idea to change top mounts. And what about bump stop and bushes, has anyone changed them to some aftermarket goodies?

Must add, I don't need suspension set up for track driving etc, have another car for that. Normal day to day driving set up is what I'm after.

Any suggestions are apreciated :)

I'm running KW variant 2's. Is the price justifiable? Answer is YES! The KW V2's are height as well as damping adjustable and therefore you can adjust how hard/soft you want your ride to be.

In my opinion you get what you pay for at the end of the day. I remember speaking to iceypolo at Ultimate Dubz last year and he was telling me that his FK's seized up after 18 months.

FK silverlines don't corrode or seize up and the konigsports are fully adjustable too.
does anyone know how they compare to the kw's?

KW are the best but you pay for them! H&R are ment to be really good aswell.

Im running spax, i'm happy with them, they make allot of noise tho (spring turning, don't say top mounts because they had new ones when fitted)

im looking at changing mine in a year or so.

KWs start at 600, Evos are almost 3 times cheaper and I don't need to adjust damping rates. And dont have that much to spend either at the moment, so reckon I will go for evos.

What about bumps stops and bushes? Are there any good ones and is there any point?
