Yet again TDI remap, which one?

Post by flyfs6 »

Hey guys/dolls,

Another post about 1.9 TDI remaps. I have a 100bhp version POLO, and I would like to have it remapped. Here are some options, all completely generic I assume :

ChippedUk - TUV approved 123bhp 300nm torque
ChippedUk - Motorsport 131bhp 293nm torque
Jabbasport 137-141bhp 231-240 ft lbs torque
TDI Tuning Box 25bhp

Price difference between the two is £75 more for Jabba and a 95 mile drive each way which in a way rules Jabba out. Jabba offer 10k service @ £105 with air filter (but I'd probably like to go for a green filter). The main dealer service isn't bad either, specially when the main dealer service is only going to cost me in the region of £120.

I know someone who will sell the tuning box for £75 for the TDI tuning box usually £199. http://www.tdi-tuning.co.uk/

Or another alternative is to wait for BBT open day where they may do better deals on AMD/BBT or revo maps, they also do chipped UK over there. How comes Revo figures are usually highest on paper?

I know REVO have good customer support and wider network, but Chipped UK are increasingly popular too - specially with UK-Mkivs.

Help and opinions eagarly anticipated & appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

The way I see it is to go to Jabba :D

When I was searching for a remap, Jabba were the only ones who included a rolling road session in the price 8)

This has to be better as it's a personal map suited to your car rather than a generic map :D

The figure that Jabba quote is the minimum increase in BHP and torque that you will get. The actual result is often more than the quoted figure.

Give them a try. I was well happy with the service I got and I travelled a round 400 miles to get it done

I'm interested in one of the tuning boxes purely because I can remove it straight away if I need to get the car serviced.

anyone else had any experience with them then?
