To service or not

I am due a service this month and have had a quote of Â£120 from local dealer which i assume parts are added on top.

I priced this up myself and parts would cost Â£37 oil and Â£5 oil filter.

Is it worth using dealer or DIY ??

My car is 4 1/2 years old, is it worth keeping the service book going ??

Do it yourself but keep the receipts and note on them when you carried out the work and the mileage

personal choice and whether you want a dealer stamp in the book.

Personally i take my car to VW for services as i like a full VW service history and i wouldn't be able to do the stuff myself.
