Exhaust System Warning Light

Post by Polo_Gio »

Hi all,

Was driving my car this morning with no problems or lights. Got in my car to drive home...no lights yet... Got to a set of lights only 5 mins into driving and my car started to splutter and sound as if it was gonna cut out but it never did. Got it home and opened the bonnet.....i swear you could have mixed a paint tin with my engine, it was shaking like mad. Turned her off and back on and the Exhaust System Light came on. Drove her to garage and guy cant take her till Tuesday.... :( :(

Dont know if this is a seperate problem or not but when i come to stop at lights i now have to press my brake pedal allot more that i had to before. Even then am slowly coming to a stop and not am prompt as i should....brake pads were renewed a while back.

HELP.

was it the engine check light? it may be the lamba sensors check all the wires to see if the are worn through i had the same problem light would be off the all of a sudden it would be on i turn the car off for 10mins or so and it would be turned off found out the wires were broke. never had the shaky engine, try going to vw and ask if they can put vag com on it.

see my recent thread with basically the same problem, the garage said use better fuel, they thought it was misfiring, since then i've been using shell V-Power and the lights gone :D

If that dont solve it then, like said above, probably the lamba sensor!

is it possible they are connected...

My brakes are definately not perfoming correctly ... far from it.
