what camera u got m8? they are amazing pics.

I am still trying to get to grips with my EOS.

What do you think of photoshop CS? what effects are you using?

I'm using a Fuji Finepix S5600.

Love CS2 - only just upgraded from PS7. Not using any preset effect's on the pics only adjust the colours and the curves with a bid of shading here and there.

Scenic one's are as taken with no adjustment other than re-size border - which CS2's batch processing make so easy

fuji S5600? 5.1 MP with 12x optical zoom rite?
i look at that at work and think it looks like a pretty decent spec for the price!
the dials pic is awesome with the moving rev needle!!

Mebe i got the wrong camera, spend Â£1k on a EOS 350d and some lenses.
Struggle to get anything as cool as that!

It really does hate taking night shots!

how many lenses did u buy? and what ones? coz my bro has got an EOS 350D and hes said he's struggles with night shots but i think he was getting the hang of them at E38!

the camera that Dino is using is not a D-SLR, but a multi zoom digital that can have extra filters and lenses added on the end!
it quite possibly has a night mode function that Fuji have built in to make night shooting easier!
not taking anything awy from Dino tho, some of those pics are immense!

I have the standard 18-55mm
a 28-300mm
a 55-200mm
and a 500mm

I find the camera makes it own decisions on if it takes a pic or not.
There is no real over ride for it.

I was using the S mode which allows me to adjust the shutter speed. All shots were taken with between 1-3 seconds shutter time.

I've got a 350d, and I havent struggled with the night shots. If im right, the camera can go completely manual, so aperture and shutter can be specified. I also got a Fuji E900, which is a superb semi-SLR camera

Yeh, just sometimes fully manual is a pain in the arse! lol

My friend also has a 350d and we both share the problem of wonky photos, lol. we can have the cameras on a tripod with a spirit level etc etc and line it all up in the view finder. looks fine and straight.
Then when i view the pics on the PC they are slightly tilted to the right.
It is sooo annoying, my friends is back at Canon at the min having it fixed.

Chris - I have a Nikon DSLR and the first thing I would say is that the kit lens will not deliver particularly exciting shots - they are cheap for a reason. When I bought mine I was advised against the standard 18-55 kit lens and went for the 18-135 lens instead. It is noticeably heavier and feels much better quality and the results are definitely better/sharper than my old nikon + kit lens.

The problem with DSLR's is that you have to learn a lot of theory to get sucessful shots. Your camera will take any shot that you want it to, you just have to know how to set it up. I suggest a lot of reading - books/magasines etc!

Yeh, i have loads of books on DSLR shooting that i am slowly making my way through.

I used to have an Olympus OM30 with a similar aray of lenses.
I never had a single problem with that and always got an excellent picture, day or night!

It was quite manual lol, not 100% on all the auto things packed into todays cameras lol

I totally agree - I still have my Konica Minolta Dynax 5 SLR film camera, and I still beleive the results I get with that are superior to digital. It was a fully automatic camera, but could be S, P or fully manual aswell - very versatile indeed.

Great pics Dino man, especially love the one of the dials

- I've always liked the scenery type shots with the long shutter speed so (car) lights seem to go past in the middle of nowhere

I take it you were using some Kick ass tripod or something with those, unless you've got EXTREMELY steady hands

I'm sure I remember Doug taking some pics of Dino's car at the camp site at Inters last year at night and they were pretty quality. A couple of other people were trying and were getting nowhere near as good results, although they didn't have DSLRs
