I'm gonna be looking to mod my Polo 6N2 Gti once i've finished building my peugeot 205 trackcar.. what manifold do you think i should go for? I've heard the supersprint one gave the best gains but is no longer available.. Are there any others that are as good?

The raceland is a copy of the supersprint.
Cheap to buy, need a bit of work to fit, but great value for money.

What exact extra work has to be done to it to make it fit?

On the two branch bend, heat needs to be applied so you can bend it slightly out of the way of the cross member.
It also needs to be pulled slightly to one side, so it clears the sump.
Ideally, a stainless exhaust flexi should be fitted, as the engine vibrations could crack the stainless.
Also, as the steel is very thin, its quite tapping when cold.
If you get some exhaust heat wrap and wrap all the pipework this pretty much solves it.

Yeah i liked my raceland manifold on my old GTi! gave a good gain of 5bhp on a rolling road....well it was 6bhp more at 131bhp but im guessing the BMC gave about 1bhp if any at all!

Just spoken to Raceland and they say it only fits the 1.4 16v(96>01). I take it that the port spacing is the same between the two engines as you managed to fit it..
