Who's Got Neons Then?

Post by LowPoloCo. »

Hey guys,

I've been holding back on this topic for some time.

Firstly, i dont want to know if you guys dont like them, because im fully aware people disagree with them, and im fed up of getting rinsed.

Anyone have them? Recommend them? I know the legality of them aswell, and am fully aware that they are legal if you cant see the tubes. :P

Dont mean to sound all stroppy, but ive had a lot of rinsing, and a lot of varied thoughts, and i just want to know who HAS done it now, not who thinks they're tacky.

Any pics are welcome!

Cheers

Ell, Neons?

Not something i would have on mine. but...
I dont mind them, as long as they are not OTT.
I dont like the really really bright ones, but i do like the light glow ones that can go behind the grills.

Please make sure insurance allows (and your rents).
Also check the law on street use.

Have a good think about it first.

If its done right, it will look ok.

Good Luck!

fair play if you want neons - I wont give you stick. Don't have any info about them, what I can say is that the Burberry factory closes down today, so dont be too gutted about that

the only neons anyone could possible justify would be mulitcolored flashing ones that play the fraggle rock theme tune.

Fraggle Rock is ace, I have it on DVD, along with Dangermouse and Count Duckula! Although possibly I shouldn't admit to that!

My word this is going hugely off topic.

And most amusing that LowPoloCo didn't want anyones opinions on whether they agreed with them or not and ppl still persisted in telling their opinions... and solely their opinion

In that case... I don't like them either.

However as there hasn't been much comment on the actual subject. From what a vaguley recall. LED bars are probably better... I may be corrected but they last longer (do they use less power aswell?) the way they are made means they are a flat bar and easier to hide under the car than neons (unless design has changed it's been years since i actually looked at these things).

And if you want to be the full entertainer get the ones that "dance" along to your stereo. :)

I have a pair of orange LED ones on each side of the truck hooked up to the coutesy light switch on each side.

No so much for the bling factor, just because it can be a bloody long way down if you don't see a pothole in the dark

Sorry, just I have an inkling no one has them.....

I would say that...

if we take away the association with chavs, boy racer beats, caps and multistory cars parks and just look at it on its own, then they are pretty cool. But unfortuately those associations do exist and therefore everytime i see them i automatically think
a) theyre going to a bloody awful nightclub/rave but will spend a good hour in the carpark first,
b) there will be about 5 of them in the car
c) they hate me
and d) they will leer at me/make hand signals at me/ vacum me into their big pupilled eyes.

But there is no reason why you cannot take on that stereotype and you know, make them nice things!

but....i wont because my opinion is not wanted.

oops i just did
