INSURANCE ON POLO GTI>> :'( HELP!!!

i passed my test last december and have also done the pass plus course. i have just turned 18 (i am a female,therefore a SAFE driver

) and have been (sadly) searching for a quote since january 07

. the best ive seem to come across is from Diamond: around Â£3000 fully comp (monthly instalments) and THAT is waaaayyy out ov my reach (i am a student, therefore "skint"!!!)
i really REALLY need some help on which insurance company 2 approach. ive been to nearly everyone in the yellow pages.
Im looking for FULLY COMPREHENSIVE cover of around Â£2500 MAX (has to be monthly instalments)
I DO NOT want a smaller car (spoilt brat, i know)i want this one so PLZ help me

Try Elephant/Admiral (same company) or Churchill. I've found them to be the cheapest. Even places that are meant to be good with modifications such as Adrian Flux are crap. For your first year, it's best getting one of your parents to insure it - that's what I did when I was driving my mums Fiesta - then I insured it under my name the next year. Using parents as named drivers when you are the named driver brings down the price drastically.

f**k me, that's a hell of a lot of money for insurance. And to think I was a bit aggrieved at paying Â£350 for Business Class 1 on mine... eek.

Have you tried Elephant with a parent or other older adult as a named driver? That usually makes a big difference to Elephant quoted.

Thanx.......yup, i tried elephant today and they quoted Â£1820.03 online (NOT BAD

) BUT thats not in monthly instalments. and i gave them a call but due to it being good friday 2day, the offices are shut!!!

i think they will quote around Â£2500 to pay in instalments. i REALLY need to get a move on, desperate to be insured for the 14th april

hmmm.... why dont u get a quote on the elephant website??? (if theyre shut today) you can buy it there as well.

try online quotes, elehphant, admiral, bell, adrian flux...

they may even offer a discount for buying online.

also add a parent as a second driver... youll see your price drop by a few hundred quid

i only have my grandmother and she doesnt drive. uncles and aunties live far far away and we dont see much of eachother so.... nope i dnt have any elders who could help.

it doesnt matter.... as long as they have a valid license. just make sure you put yourself as the main driver of the vehicle, that way you dont get any problems if you have to claim.

you can add virtually anyone onto your policy (valid uk license, family, friend etc etc), even if they will never drive the car. having a older person as another driver will help your quote a lot.

When I was you age I was hooked on hot hatches (still am). The only way I could afford insurance was to go for 3rd party. It does the job, but you need to be sure you don't make any mistakes on the road....

Adrian Flux were always the cheapest when I was 18.

I was insured on mine at 19 (only been driving a year and had 0ncb) got it with Elephant for Â£1700 paying monthly on the 10 month bonus scheme, and had my mum as a named driver.

well, i no there are insurance companies out there who will give me a quote i probably can afford. thats y i am looking for
"MONTHLY INSTALMENTS", coz i'll be able to afford that!!!

Im insured at 19, 1 yrs ncb and one crash which was in my first year, fully comp my name, mum as named driver - Â£1600.
Thats with admiral, which i has chuffed with. I used Confused.com as all other sites(tesco, NU etc) were coming back at like Â£4k.
You'll always find somewhere who will let u pay monthly
