Agree with your dissapinting.

There was a rumour (on Vortex, I think) that VW was going to be solely diesel for performance cars. I discounted it at the time and continue to discount it (because I have hope...)

Interestingly, although 10hp more than the GT TDI coming for the 9n, almost exactly the same performance figures:

Hmmm.

Also,
It’s true. The new Golf does look vaguely familiar.
Hmm, so VW's been reading the feeback on vortex as well then, 307 and Civic comparisons here we come!

Here's something for you Nelson,

Have a look at the "Estoril" alloys in the image gallery and then think "chromed"...

Deek.

And (while I'm here  ), have a look at image 11 in the gallery - rear view of the gti - but no GTI badge!!!

The Tdi is a brand new engine plus it has 16 valves so a basic 140bhp is not bad when you consider the current TDi engine used to kick out 90bhp, what are we upto now? 150bhp.

I had put my name down for the GT Tdi 2.0 140bhp, but then I found out the price; £18,500 basic, hell I could get a BMW or an Audi for that much money.

The equivalent A3 (2.0 TDI Sport) is £19,180OTR. With that little difference, I'd save up that little bit more and go for the A3. It's got the better styling of the two by a wide margin, IMHO.

Deek.

very true, i think the only real difference between the mk4's was the alloys and i think the arches were slightly wider! that about it! alright if u want a wolf in sheeps clothing, but if ya saw top gear 2 weeks ago when they raced a mk1 vs a mk4, the mk1 won! wots going on there! still i would rather have a mk1 than a mk4!
did ya also see the race on the same top gear with the escort cossie against the focus RS! cossie obviously won but did ya see the way it came off the line?

VW have lost the plot pure and simply.

They seem to have forgot the reception they received for the concept and made this rubbish thing.

They wonder why they struggle to sell cars at times. You know why.

I'm quite annoyed at VW for this, they're pushing me away.
