Ollie's new car!

Post by Ollie_R »

I picked up the new car this morning:

It's had one owner from new, it has 42,000 miles on it, and all the paperwork is included. I'm really happy with it

It drives so nicely, and it's much faster than the old Polo.

It's the 1.8 carb engine. It produces around 90hp, double what the 6N2 makes

That looks very tidy! I like it! 8)

My Mam had a Scirocco many years back, that was the car that first got me into VWs.

Yeah, after Inters and the Expo, I'll put it back to standard and sell it.

I take it you'll still be hanging around though, and we'll no doubt all see you out and about?

Yeah, of course. I will still be doing the shows in it, Tom. The car would make an awesome concours car. Everything is standard, even the plates :D

Meh, I'm not bothered about it being slower than a GTI. At least I don't have to worry about my gearbox blowing up all the time

@ Ollie, you going to mod' anything on your new car? Or keep it 'as is' for a while? Those wheels look like the ones off the Audi 80 Sport, but I'm sure they were used on lots of other VW/Audi's of the time.

I'm keeping it standard for the moment. If I were to modify anything on the car, the mods would have to be reversible. I don't want to muck around with it too much; that would be sacrilege in my opinion.

Yeah, the wheels are the Speedlines from the Audi 80's. The bloke who owned it had the wheels from standard, apparently the service manager put them on, which the previous owner wasn't too happy about.

I agree with that, I like to be able to reverse my mods with out too much work. Partly 'cos its easier to sell as standard.

Some good news:

I've decided to keep the Polo until September. Once I'm 21, I'll have a few year's no claims under my belt.

I've also been playing with what the 'Rocco could look like on Dubmodder (yes I paid for it ).
