Polo Gti Oil.. what do VW recommend

Anyone tell me if im best having VW oil for my polo gti. or is something else better to use?

Opinion will be divided on whether it is best to use oil from VW, as it depends what oil your dealer uses/supplies. The recommended oil will be listed in the handbook, with a VW specification number. Check the back of oil packaging to see that the oil is suitable.

I am changing my oil tommorrow using Castrol GTX Magnatec 10W/40.

I used to go an oil change on my Polo every 3000 miles or so, with GTX Magnatec.

hello again stranger.. ok i think i wil go with that though. although the recommend one is 5/30, but im going to go with 10/40 as seems you lot are proof its fine.

A four litre bottle of this was 21.68 at my dealer when I was there today, just for anyone's reference.

and yes im in Brighton, so not far at all :D Never see any gti's round this way though :(

I agree that quantum silver semi is good. always use it. my other half uses it in his g60 mk1! would never use anything else. :)
