Anyone whos put a better spec interior in a L spec

Post by Robi mk4 »

rite well i had a L spec interior where the rear seats are one piece and im putting a 16v interior in, now coz its got the 60/40 split rear seats i cant fit the back parts, the bits you sit on the holdings for a 60/40 split were already there so i put that in easy, but the bit u lean against there is nothing to hold them in the middle! how have people got round this? Thanks

If i understand what you are saying then there should be a clip, like a U shape.

They should fit identically the same as your previous interior!!!

Unless you got a 6N2 interior, then i dunnoo.

This is the problem i came across and previously posted it here and at clubpolo and no answer. So i fiddled around and worked it out.

Get a flat head screw driver and at one end of the bit you lean it against slide it in and lift it up. It doesnt look like it will work but i asure you after ten minutes fiddling around and finding the right gap ull get it.

Il post an example up if you cant find it.

Hope this helps

in the middle of the part u lean back againt u need 2 of the clips that are either side, so i can attach the bottom right n left as they fit into the old housings, but in the middle you need a further 2 holdings for the split. does this make sense or do i need pics?

I think I see what you mean.

with no split the seat back only needs support at either end at the bottom.

with a 60/40 split seat back there an extra bracket to suport the two halves in the middle.

like this.
