Im looking at buying a GTI thats been lowered, however I cant actually get insured on a lowered car so im going to have to refit the origional springs:evil:...

How hard is it to swap the springs over?

Will changing the springs effect the current camber and tracking?.... (will I have to get it retracked and have the camber looked at once the old springs are back on?

not too difficult afaik -

i will be doing the reverse and fitting 60mm drop springs in next couple of weeks myself

Yes you will need the camber/tracking done - local garage should do it for you - around £50ish apparently mate

hope this helps 8)

Not too difficult, I did the reverse of this a few weeks ago - its time consuming and you'll need some spring compressors but its not difficult.

Hi guys,

Does anyone know the part number for the standard front suspension springs?

Also, is there a guide anywhere for changing springs?

Im fairly sure there is a good guide to replacing the strut/springs in the appropriate haynes manual....worth every penny IMHO!
