Rocket Fuel??? (YouTube Video Added)

Post by chrisash32 »

Right, lets cut a long story short!
Yesterday i was having a bit of a tidy up in the shed, moved my generator and found behind it a 5ltr Petrol can which was full.
Now the generator was full as well so i didn't see any point in storing it!!

I got it with the generator about 10 months ago and i cant remember if it was me that filled it or the person i got it off on eBay....

Anyway, took the lid off and it smelt like petrol (despite it being in a black container!!) and assuming it was as i got the container with my petrol generator....

Sooo, being short on cash and very low on fuel i chucked it in the Polo.

Did about 5 mile last night, didn't notice anything....
Came out to the car this morning and scared the s**t out of myself! its like the car is on something!!!!! i mean i can compare it to how the acceleration felt in my old 1.9tdi it is sooo quick.
I accelerated in 2nd on a road i travel down every day and put my foot down in 2nd and the car just kept spinning the wheels on dry road!!
When i finally did get grip it was like i had traded the Polo engine for a jet engine!!!

Checked for bad signs, no smoke etc etc

Anyone got any ideas? i assume it has something to do with the fuel i put in the car?? Was going to get a video and shove it on you tube this eve but didn't get chance.

Confused.......

I have no clue what you've done but id love some of it!

maybe all the ethanol has furmented to create some kind of uber fuel.

So is the car still driving like a jet??

im guessing the 1.4 from his sig.

Sounds good to me mate lol. If it is kerosine ive never heard of any drawbacks to putting it in your car. saying that, i dont know anyone who has lol.

Wonder how long it will last you... What kind of mileage are you getting from it? haha.

The ethanol is probably the most logical answer. The generator could've been running off something like E85 fuel, which is 85% ethanol, 15% petrol. Apparently the E85 is available at Morrison's. I think Tesco's do a 5% mix in their 100RON fuel as well.

Have a look on this thread, makes for somewhat interesting reading:

"yeh a man on the internet said it would make my car go faster" haha fill your car up with that shoz when u sell it you'll flog it easy!
