GT performance stats

Post by edjohnson »

just been thinking of replacing the genesis with something a bit quicker, to match the mini's performance or more.

wanted a G40, for obvious reasons, but the insurance was a tad too much at £900, and ive just moved into my own place.

So a GT is on the cards, just wondering what the performance was like??

Easily tuneable

Standard 75bhp and with the lightness of the it doesn't pull too bad

Seen people push 90bhp out of theres from very simple mods

Such as

Filter
Exhaust
Decat
Chip
G40 Inlet Manifold
Golf air flow meter

If you want to take it to other levels theres various bits of porting and head work you can do to try and get to the magic 100bhp!

Can also fit the 1.4 seat bottom end to get a few more ponies

As for strip performance I had mine which was 86bhp and quickest I did was a 17.2seconds

Apart from Yoof's GT which has NOS the quickest GT I know that went down strip was in 16.5 using a 4speed box

Hope this helps
