how many miles on a tank?

Post by shantybeater »

ok guys i've got a journey tomorrow from bournemouth to stratford upon avon via bristol, a fair bit of motorway driving and was wondering how many miles i'm likely to get on the tank sticking to 70/80 on the motorways...the journey is around 155 miles, any ideas?

If it's mainly motorway then I'd say you can look to get anywhere between 300-360 maybe

I'd say so, I got to Manchester and back on a tank which was about 165miles each way.

Didn't quite manage it to Bradford and Back though which is a shorter journey, although to say I wasn't driving economically on the way back is an understatement  (was follwing my brother in his 200bhp Astra SRi Turbo)

I would say you should be ok if you drive economically and resist the urge to burn some rubber!!

I have got approximately 350 out of mine, but not sure if i would have beter or worse fuel consumption due to have a conversion.

You should get at least 300 miles to a tank. I've had 38-41 MPG on motorway journeys, compared to 31-36 MPG everyday driving

Here is a chart of all my journeys in my Polo so far. Most peaks are motorway journeys

My latest tank saw me at just under 380 (that was only with 100 miles on the motorway)

Although it did take £50
