What The Hell?! how do i protect it?

just walking past my car and noticed this!!

do not have a clue how it got there, its not the most obvious thing in the world thank god, but its pretty big.

Anyone with any advice on how to protect it from rust etc..??

looks like its been done by a jack in the wrong place. to protect from rust it needs painting

that was my immediate thort, but i've only jacke it once from owning it and i certainly didnt do that to it!! ah dammit, i just spent Â£20 on paint this morning fo something else should have bought more!! cheers mate

I've got a mark like that from a garage jacking my car up wrong too - really annoying as they bent the skirt a little in the process!
