Apart from looks does this actually give you a benefit from the original pre 2003 version fitted?

Yeah have you tried adjusting the washer jet? It might sort the problem if not then it may be losing pressure somewhere, try shaking the tailgate up and down if you hear water sloshing around then you have a leaking pipe also check under the boot carpet for dampness and water leaks under the engine bay toward the back near the bulkhead as the connection there can become disconnected.tim wrote:yeh, mine was fitted as standard to my 9n, i thought it was good too until it stopped wiping the top half of the rear windown and the water jet only reaches up half as far as its used to, it sucks,
any ideas?
Also when the front wipers are on at full the left one hits off the A pillar
With the wiper hitting the A pillar if you loosen the nut on the spindle the arn is secured to you can adjust where the arm rests and should solve the problem.
Hope this helps

Just to depress you - the front wiper on ours also hit the A pillar. I tried removing the wiper arm to re-locate it but the arm wouldn't come off despite Plus Gas and WD40. In the end I borrowed a puller from a mechanic friend. Apparently the soft alloy of the wiper arm 'bites' into the wiper spindle splines and virtually seizes into place. You might be lucky but don't remove the nut completely when you try to remove the arm because the arm may come off in a rush and go flying, scratching you and the paint! Once the arm is loosened you can remove the securing nut.
Unfortunately re-locating the arm didn't do much good as there seems to be too much travel in the mechanism. However, it only hits the A pillar on high speed now. The dealer said they would replace the whole mechanism under warranty but the car is being sold shortly so someone else can have the headache.
