polo gti alignment/tracking/camber etc...

Post by shantybeater »

Hi guys, i've been ringing round garages to get my alignment sorted since my ride height has been adjusted, and the local place quote £30 but it may be £60 if the car has two aligment points? is this true? and does the polo have two or one?

I phoned another place and they just said £30 + vat and mentioned nothing about it?!??!

Bit confused

Make sure you mention camber as well as alignment. You will probably get told you can't adjust it on the Polo, but you definitely can!

I got mine done at Protyre in Fareham, not sure if they have an equivilent branch near you?

yup went to protyre here and got it all done for £59, although they told me my camber is max'd on the right wheel so they couldnt adjust it anyfurther unless I raise the suspension....they'll do it for free though if I do

if u live near farnham give farnham tyres and exhausts a call. i used to go to kwik fit as they are just down the road from me in aldershot but since i went in there and asked for my allignment to get done and ended up coming out with a £300 bill i decided im never going there again.

ive taken my gf's car to farnham tyres and exhausts befor and found theyre friendly and usefull so i'll be using them as i need new front tyres soon and prob see about getting the allignment and camber checked to.

You can only adjust the camber on the Fornt of the car, as the Back is a solid rear beam, So when lowered there isnt anything you can do about the camber, But as mine sits it aint bad at all, and only the front is a pain in the ass.

Although when i got my coils i also purchased a set of H & R camber bolts. and it made a massive differnce. to when the coils where first put on and then the full aligenment done. Altho the camber looked 8)
