pipercross filter, what a load of tosh.

I received my nice pipercross panel filter today.

I had a hell of a job removing the old filter with the strut brace in the way (any tips?)

anyhow, new filter goes in. I can't for the life of me squeeze the lid back on. I keep trying and then have a closer look.

The bloody panel filter is about 3mm longer on the engine edge. and it's such a tight fit that this leeway pops it out of place and the lid just won't squeeze on.

so I've damaged it every so slightly in the process (the rubber seal), I'm left with a panel filter and Â£40 out of pocket. I'm going to send it back complaining!

anyone else recommend a better replacement? and can anyone give me some tips when a strut brace is in the way?

im assuming you have the triangluar air box????

get a green one mate, thats what i have in my gti and swear by it

yeah i've heard green are very good!
Josh said that a pd160 intake and green panel filter were the only things he needed to do on his fabia to improve air flow!

Ditto, order yourself a Green filter. Both I and Jeff_Gti have them.

Since green filters have a lot less oil than most, and the way they are. There's less chance of busting your MAF and the increase in air flow/performance is pretty good too.

When you order the Fabia Vrs is the same filter and I think other Fabia ones too, for some reason they're a Â£5'er cheaper.

I've got a K&N in mine, it seemed to fit strange but its in and working
