Fuel Prices!!!

Post by ModifiedMadness »

Are they ever going to be a decent price again?

Last time I filled up (2nd of this month), BP Ultimate was 110.9 a litre which is extortionate, filled up again today and it's now 111.9 a litre!

42.90 litres cost me £48.01 £20 of which was probably tax

Rant over.

Havent a clue how much it is near me, but Shell V-Power is at 108.9

Supposedly, tesco premium is the best, as its 99-Ron whereas BP ultimate is 97-Ron and V Power is 98-Ron.

How odd is that lol!

Phil, Shell at Kinkorth are 101.9 for normal unleaded so hate to think what V-Power is like. The garage at Altens is usually at least 4p cheaper

Just filled up and it was 100.9 for Diesel. Not as bad as some other places round the country that I've heard about tho.

Have a look at this link below. It tells you how much you spend a year on fuel, how much extra you have to pay per year if it goes up a few pence, and most shockingly, how much tax you pay

It's bang out of order. The last time I filled the tank from empty to full in the Scirocco, it cost me around £50, when V-Power was around 101p/ltr (I'm not sure why the carb'd 1.8 needs over 97RON, whereas the K-Jetronic 1.8 8v only needs 95RON). I'd hate to imagine how much it costs now

Hence why I drive a Micra to work now. Nice and reliable and it runs happily on cheap Tesco's fuel :)

It's bloody ridiculous to be honest, and getting well out of hand.

My next door neighbor went to New York earlier this year and he was talking to a taxi driver about our petrol prices, and he was in shock. He said it would never happen in America 'cos the Americans wouldn't stand for it

well guys i am currently studying chemical engineering (geek i know) and i am afraid its the way things are going in the oil industry as reserves get lower and lower the more difficult to extract oils, eg oil sands, become feasible to extract and refine. one good thing tho it means oil isnt gona run out for a long time because there is plenty of oil about just it never paid to extract it, now it is begining to be more cost effective oil forecasts are much longer!

i wish it was cheaper tho over a quid is just heart breaking!

tax is still a killer America pays half the price we do if not less!
