I haven't checked them in ages. How can I tell if the pads are worn? My MOT/Service was in March and I had my rear discs and pads replaced, so assuming the fronts were ok then.
My brakes have always been crap, planning on getting G60's before my next MOT/Service March next year.
Take the wheel off and check how much of the pad is left - obviously they wear down through use and if they're close to having 'nout left on them, its time to change!
Depends totally on your driving style but my pads last anything from 12-18 months?
You would no if your pads are done because braking will become pretty pathetic and it will squeek throughout braking as the pad and disc hit metal to metal

i'd rather have a method of checking without it getting this far!! lol
Is the squeak constantly there no matter what speed? Could be a stone caught in the guard that stops water and debris from hitting the disc. Although a stone in there usually makes a hellish noise!
