Hi, does anybody know what the size of standard wheels are on the vw polo 9n 1.2 S 65bhp ?
im thinking of putting 16" or 17" on them. and want to know how much difference there will be.
Would it need lowering?
Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Re: 9n wheel size
as said before, it shouldn't matter what the original wheel size is - it's the wheel and tyre size you want. if you go for 17s then 205x40x17 is the "best" tyre size to go for. You can fit 215s too, but most success is with the 205 tyres.Horatio wrote:Hi, does anybody know what the size of standard wheels are on the vw polo 9n 1.2 S 65bhp ?

With 16s I can't quite remember, but you can look up the tyre size on a calculator on the web and figure out what size you'll need.

standard on steel wheels are 165/65/14 which is 41.5cm total diameter
40/17s is 46.5cm total diameter
40/16s is 44cm total diameter
45/15 is 42cm total diamter
if you want to keep the same size wheel so your speedo isn't out etc and keep the car at the same ride height without raising the centre of gravity then go for a 15" wheel with a 45 profile tyre.
anything bigger when the car isnt lowered then you're going to get more of a tractor look effect.
