New trackday toy more added ---FINISHED! 13th July

Post by tegwin »

Not GTI related, but figured some of you might appreciate this...

Bought an old formula 750 car....Along with a tuned Kawasaki zx9R engine...

The plan is to strip the car back to a bare chassis, paint it, then refit all the parts along with the engine...

A basic idea of spec:
total wet weight 250Kg
Power 140hp (rear wheels)
Paddle shift
Magnesium alloy wheels
Inboard rocker front suspension.
4 piston aloy racing callipers front and rear...

This is how she looks at the moment:

What you see there cost me just over 1.5k....the engine was £700...I recon I will need to spend another 8-£900 on it to bring it up to the high standard I expect...

But even at just over £3K....Thats not bad, considering it has similar power to weight as a Ferrari Enzo...

Im just lucky it was such a good buy at that price :D

The engine is now sitting in the chassis whilst I fabricate the brackets...
