washer jets

Post by chewy »

The drivers side washer jet aint working, the screen wash is just dripping out. The passanger side and the headlight jets all work fine. Can I get in anywhere to see if the pipe is blocked? If I pull the jet out will I be able to get it out without breakin it?

Hi Mate, I take it your jets are the 'spray type' pattern ones?

If so, then you should be able to tease them off from their fixings (under the lower edge of the bonnet closest to the windscreen) - but as for being able to 'fix them' I don't think thats possible due what they are.

Apparently they can become gunked if the correct windscreen washer additive isn't used (like the VWs own). Just had a similar problem with my Mums Polo - the passenger side unit started to fail - replaced under warranty tho' so can't complain. The part was quoted at £2.26 (guess +VAT) so they're not expensive.
