Coilovers

Post by Tom W »

Hi All,

I bought some of the £200 coilovers (maybe first error???) from Phil on the clubpolo site. They're fitted however every post i read about people who have fitted these seem to say that it stiffens up the ride considerably however i am experiencing the complete opposite. My ride seems far too soft and even when driving in a straight line down the motorway at 70mph i just seem to be bouncing all over the place. i have lowered the car around 60mm but they are not damper adjustable so the only way i can see to improve this is to buy better springs.

Any ideas folks?????

Stiffer ride when you go into corners yes but you will find that the lower you go, the more bouncer it gets. Adjustable dampening could/would help your situation but most like myself live with it

Before buying new springs I'd suggest looking at uprating any of the following:
Powerbushes
Upper and lower bruces (OMP)
And a rear ARB (from an Ibiza)

All these will help stiffen up and improve your ride
