No, MK4 Golf seats require new sub frames. There aren't a lot that will fit straight on as far as I'm aware.

I'm not 100% how they're made mate sorry. There was someone on Club Polo who fitted MK4 Golf Anni. Recaros to his Polo GTI but he doesn't post there anymore since he sold it. His username was 'Don Carlos' I think. If you can find his profile on there, maybe he'll have an email address listed :)

Personally I'm a big big fan of the Recaro seats from the Colour Concept model. Also fitted to some mk3 Golf models and I have heard that mk3 Golf subframes go straight in to a Polo 6N/6N2?

Mk4 Golf/Bora seats (or equivalent Audi seats) will require new subframes though. Not sure on cost, sorry :)

Cheers

You could make new subframes quite easily....all you need are some basic metalworking skills and a welder LOL!...

If someone can supply me with a recaro seat im sure I could put together a set of subframes to suit the GTI!

I contacted jarno i regards to what seats fit in the 6n1/2 chassis a while back and here's what he said:

Q: From what cars will leather seats fit?
A: Straight swap is:
mk4 Polo
mk5 Polo
mk4 Ibiza

And with some minor work:
mk3 Golf
mk5 Ibiza
mk3 Vento/Jetta

Time to write out the list and go scrappy (If only I had the money :( ) Hope this helps for the search.

I think MK3 golf seats fit straight into the 6n not 100% on 6N2. My subframes would have fitted the mk3 golf, mk4 polo + ibiza etc

for a 6N2 front seats, the following fit straight in:

Polo 6N
Ibiza 3 (I think it's 3? same mark as shantybeaters car)
Golf Mark 3

Most other front seats will fit in, you just need subframes like previouly mentioned.

for the rears, only the following to my knowledge are a straight fit:

Polo 6N
Ibiza 3

APPARENTLY, the golf Mark3s can fit with modding.

I've also seen golf Mark4s fitted to the rear so that has to be possible.

This is the only info i've managed to gather so far, as i'm also on the search for some!

Yeh TTs do fit if you get custom subframes made. Pretty much any front seats will fit with custom subframes.

I recently took apart my rear bench, and was quite suprised at how easy it is to get the cloth on a off and how it all works. I came to the conclusion that maybe a re-trim isn't so far out of the question, so I may look into getting the rears re-trimmed to match TT fronts.

Either that or chase up a guy that sold his polo on here not so long ago, that had mark4 recaros in front and back. To find out how hard it was to fit them.
