When I changed mine for an A3 s-line version I used a little washing up liquid on the ball joint when popping the mirror back on the windscreen

I was wary of this too but, as luck would have it, I got a crack in my front windscreen and this triggered a decision to get a Lupo GTi satin black mirror ordered up! Got Auto Windscreens to swap the mirror when they replaced the 'screen :P

Why does everyone insist on pushing/yanking their's on and off and causing damage?!

It's a simple anti-clockwise twist to get it on and off, that's it!

How on earth do you crack the glass putting the mirror back on?! :?

Like Tim said its so easy to take the rear view mirror off.

Saying that, i bought a rear view mirror to be sprayed for someone and the stem had glass on it where the person had literally pulled it off the windscreen LMAO!!!

is a 6N mirror just a simple twist and fit no.

I work for Autoglass and you get people in all the time with snapped off mirrors. It just fell off lol, half the windscreen still stuck on the back of the mirror
