Can't locate Engine Speed Sensor, G28 on 1.4 16v AHW engine?

Does anyone have a diagram of the AHW 1.4 16v engine? Its from a 2000 Polo.
Or can anyone tell me how to locate the engine speed sensor (g28) on this engine?
I have found the cable connector for it sitting on top of the gearbox, but then it dissapears round the back of the engine hidden below the inlet manifold and above the starter motor.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
