Most importantly, the engine is the 100bhp one - not the 75bhp unit (for some reason, Skoda made two kinds of 1.4 16v engine). It's from a 2001 car and has about 65k miles on it from memory (I can check exactly). Cambelt recently changed, oh the irony!
The car itself ate the back of a post office van at about 15mph, annoyingly that's enough to make it uneconomic to repair. Engine was untouched in the accident, so happily it will live to power another car around...
I don't know much about Skodas, or Polos (I normally tune Volvo turbos) but will do my best to answer any questions.
