Drive shaft rubber boot info please

Just under my 02 polo 9n and noticed that the rubber boots only have a circlip on one end and not the other!!!!

Is this how it should be?????? Or should there be a circlip on both ends of the boot.

Hi, just guessing but is the clip at the big end, we run a race Polo and we only use a cable tie at the big end, usually the small end is quite tight so seals ok. Because of the angles of steering etc the big end is more incline to pop off. The proper VW metal clips are a nightmare without the right tool, and a jubille clip usually catches, hence a cable tie, but they have to be tight. Hope it helps.
