Does look nice, would it be faster than a GTi though?

looking at this picture in his photo bucket i would have to say it is almost definitely quicker than a normal GTI:

Can't remember from the exact details on Club Polo but isn't he selling it due to the fact he is about to lose his driving license (for a reason unrelated to the fact that he owns a G40 powered GTi!)

so wats the difference between a standard gti engine and a standard g40 engine? apart from the turbo charge (or watever it is) is it the g40 is easier to modify so can get more power out of it?

From memory:

G40 is a 1.3 supercharged lump

&

GTI is a 1.6i. (obviously!)

G40 pushes around 100bhp, GTI 125bhp. You can do much the same mods to both engines, just with the G40 you can also modify the 'charger & get a load more power out of it. And being a supercharger, it's got no lag & pulls from standstill!! 8)

its local to us kipper, he lives in bracknel, seen him at afew meets with it, impressive engineering but rather pointless as its a smaller engine that puts at similar bhp to a standard gti
