Well, picked up my new car today, Polo FSi Sport finished in Reflex silver

8 months old with only 4,000 miles on the clock. But not all went smoothly...

When I joined the Daul Carriageway (A14) to Ipswich after about 5 miles the engine warning light illuminated on me!

To say I wasn't happy was an understatement. For anyone who has ever been in that situation. Your not sure whether to carry on going and hope its just a sensor, or stop for fear of blowing up your engine (!!).

Anyway, came to a stop and called my original dealership, who (thankfully) let me hook her up to the diagnostic machine. Luckily, it turned out it was one of the Nox sensor playing up. We cleared the fault and i'm hoping it was just a 'one off' and won't return

However, all that messing about cost me 1/2 day of work missed when the whole handover was only supposed to take 2 hours!!

Anyway, the car is lovely! Brisk (though not ultra fast, it will certainly go though) performance, great seats and handling plus all the things I loved about my old car!

Right, i'm now off to the Shell Garage for some Optimax!

Nice one,

Shame about the engine light thang but then it's covered under warranty should anything happen. Not a nice thing to happen in the first minutes of ownership though.

I imagine your weekend will be tajen up adding your cubby hole, lights, etc, what happened to your chrome dials did you swap to this VDUB or have they gone with your old car?

@ Des. I have already fitted the Cubby box and rear aero wiper. Unfortunately I had to let the Chrome grille go with the old car as I lost the original one. However, I ordered a new one today

On Saturday I will be fitting the 30 mil springs and hopefully if all goes to plan I will be putting a set of San Marinos on

Wait until it's around 2000 and after around 2-3 tanks of optimax you can really feel the difference!

C'mon, you've only got 2 months to tart her up for inters!

Just filled her with the first tank of Optimax tonight

Looking forward to the (probably minor) savings in fuel.

Two things I've noticed though, the washer bottle has spilt (like a seive when you put screenwash in) and the o/s headlamp has moisture in it, it doesn't go away after you've had the h/lamps on for a while so looks like a new headlamp

I'm amazed these two things wern't picked up on the used car check

Ah, that would be 12000 miles. not 2000. Got a little excited.
If you drive it hard, you'll get less miles out of optimax than you will with the other stuff, that's what I found. But take it easy and should make a noticable difference.

Well im on my 3rd set of headlights due to the moisture in them and they've still got it.

VW aren't replacing them anymore as they all do on all makes of cars and are talking with the manufacturers for a remedy.

Tell me about it!

Ive had it back 3 weeks now and the rattles have come back although some are different, my clutch pedal has now started making an annoying rattle just as you put your foot on it and the drivers seat is squeaking again.

The service manager was on about that they may bring out a modified dash.

The sooner the better as that fabia vRS is ever looming! Or the Clio Sport

Well, managed to get some pictures a couple of nights ago, just couldn't be bothered to put them up

Already lowered 30 mil on San Marinos, with Cubby box and Sunglasses holder mod, just waiting for the chrome grille to come off back order, then hopefully 30% tints all round before Inters

NOTE: I know i'm outside an Esso garage, but it was for light purposes only!
