I have a slight issue when braking. There's some kind of flickering noise. Anyone have an idea of what it could be?

How many miles have u done with ur discs and pads? Are u braking hard when u feel it??

I think around 2500miles. A slight braking can trigger the noise. There were no noises when I got them fitted, since March. I only noticed the noise this week.

I think its coming from the front left. I had a look, but I've no idea what I'm looking for.

on low speed braking, i get a small squeek/squeel sometimes due to the pads being high carbon items (tarox pads) but its only then, not under firm or eavy braking

by the way, im 312 mm converted, using golf 4 anni calipers and carriers, goodridge braided hoses, tarox sport japan disks which are cross drilled and grooved and the tarox strada fast road pads

Thats very very low mileage - you will have rusted up brakes due to lack of use - are both sides of all the discs still smooth and shiny?

Maybe also check for a trapped stone somewhere in one of the four assemblies - though normally they make horendeous noises - like everything breaking up.

Disc aren't shiny, but not rusty. I use ma car everyday.

Jeff GTi, my setup is pretty similar to yours, except am using black diamonds.

I hadn't heard anything like this before. Its kinda like riding a bike with those plastic thing you put on the bar, so it taps the spokes.

in that case it will most likely be the dust cover has been mis shaped or damaged on the new brake fitting

the father in law had this on his rover 220 gsi after having new brakes, just needed re bending in to shape

just another thought if it isnt the dust cover. with having drilled and grooved discs the pads when aplied are going over the grooved and drilled bit and sometimes they make a light flicking noise. ive had this a few times with impreza owners doing big brake upgrades and drilled/grooved discs with performance pads. just my opinion

mine fan being cross drilled and grooved, but its more like a jumbo jet taking off than a pinking noise
