Weitec Hi Con TX Coilover Fitting on 9N 1.9 TDi Sport
Hi,
I will be fitting my Weitecs in the next few weeks (should have been last week, but it didn't happen thanks to Strictly Dubs!).
What parts will I need to carry over from my old suspension? As I would rather just buy the parts new (I have bought £250 worth of bolts and bushes so I am not going the scrimp at the last bit!). I already have brand new top mounts and bearings, it looks like I need the top cups?
Thanks!

Thats what I was waiting on from Strictly Dubs. They said 3 - 5 days and it was nearly 2 weeks and they still hadn't arrived. No phone call or PM even though I said I needed them for last week. Plus they are just the Hottuning ones, which are £40 on ebay direct and they charge me £50!drewbar wrote:Have you got shortened drop links mate?
I have found some Ford Mondeo '93 - '00 that are supposed to fit.
Thanks!!

Have you got a pretty good tool kit mate, its pretty straight forward but you'll need an M14 spline socket to undo the pinch bolt on the bottom of the shock absorber, and some smaller spline key socket to remove the O/S driveshaft. The shaft will lock up against the subframe meaning you cant get the shock absorber out, the N/S is fine though.
BTW i had to go out to the garage to remember what size the spline key was lol.
The rears are a peice of p***, just be carefull of the abs sensors in hub carrier when bashing them downwards on the fronts too.
Hope that helps mate

If your taking the subframe off aswell you wont need to worry about unbolting the driveshaft but you'll still need to undo the pinch bolt for the hubcarrier. However if you just changing the dogbone mount I dont think you'll need to remove the subframe as (if we're talking about the same mount) then it just bolts through the subframe on that end then to the engine/gearbox on the other end to stop the engine rocking back and forth under load.
