Bout time I did this. Had the GTi for about 2 month now. Completey standard when I got it. Dropped my Alpine iPod stereo in it straight away. Then got some red piping off ebay. Just sorted out some 16" RXII's . Ready split and awaiting refurb. Just sorting out paymeny and postage on them. Shocked I found a set and more shocked at the price. Next after the wheels I'm toying with either hottuning coilies or a drop on just eibach springs.
yeah no way I could let that bargain go. And I've been told they're pretty rare. Just need to find some where to get a decent refurb. Lots of curb rash and a lil buckle to get knocked out. Was thinking a really light anthracite but prob do them silver. I want the car to look oem but want people to know its been fiddled with. Want people to stop and look and not be able to put their fnger on how its different and what's making it look better than stock.
That's OEM+ styling for you mate . How badly are they buckled? Yeh silver with a polished lip, can't go wrong. Remember to get 195/40/16 tyres for them, not 45s
Not too bad I've been told. The lip has moved about 2 mm in one place. So
not too bad. Should knock back into place. How much of a ball ache are polished lips to keep polished?! Do eibach or anyone else do a 60mm kit?! Or should I hold out for some hottuning coilies?! Also what can I get for my 15" GTi rims?! Got about three month old yoko's on front and a bit left in the federals on the rear. Not too much bubbling on spokes and no curb rash. I been told about £250.
Polished wheels, (like all wheels really) should be cleaned once a week.
I'd hold out for coilies mate, definitely.
good RXIIs with good tyres should fetch £250, a spanking set would fetch more. Corrosion and tyre wear can drastically reduce the value of them however.
