Check out the link above to see the performance gains achieved by the BMC CDA induction kits.

The Polo GTI that they tested achieved a power increase of 5.6BHP which goes to show its for sure the best on the market.

Its just a shame they didnt test the BMC on an original spec Gti, the car tested had 132.6 bhp compared to the standard 125 so I assume that car had the addition of either a full exhaust system, manifold or re-map.

If your thinking of getting one of these then I suggest you use either Venom Motorsport or Ebay.
Kam Racing are OUT of stock due to their supplier going bust (credit crunch yet again) and they cannot say when they will have the CDA70-130 kits back in stock.

A shop on eBay has 10 of these kits available (CDA70-130) for £129.99 + £8.99 P&P which is a great price.
I have asked the question whether the kits come with the usual black cold air feed (60cm), 90 degree silicon bend,Nylon reducers and 16mm breather filter etc so when I get an answer I will keep you posted.

Compare that price of £138.98 from ebay with the £161.59(inc VAT + P&P) Kam racing are charging and you could save yourself a decent £22.61, which is not a bad saving at all. 8)

Could anybody tell me who has fitted a BMC CDA on their GTi, where they have positioned their cold air feed???
the original behind the light intake I imagine is quite restricitve compared to having it by the left hand side bottom spotlight. But if someone could tell me which is best position and what they think of it in general.

Oh come on... they are not going to test their own product on the dyno and show that it doesnt work.... If the results were "independant" I would not be sceptical... But the results are more biased than a tree hugging lumbrejack!

I have seen gains of over 3.4 BHP come from a K&N induction kit on a 2002 Standard Fiesta Zetec S so I wouldnt be too sarcastic about the results. In most cases the addition of a free flowing exhaust system also improves the performance of an induction kit. The BMC CDA are enclosed units as well which is even better compared to a K&N typhoon induction for example.

Dont get me wrong I can see where your coming from but to me those results dont seem unrealistic at all.

Bleugh, everyone knows the BMC does very little if not nothing to the performance of the GTi. One independant test came back with 1bhp increase, another with 2bhp lost (also had a diff exhaust)

It's all about the sound when it comes to the BMC.

I mounted mine here, same palce as the OEM positioning, but with a different feed:

What was wrong with the feed supplied tim? poor quality or wasnt it long enough?

Its hard to get an idea of what the induction kit will actually give you on the rolling road, because of the air flow, engine temperature etc but ive seen a few videos on Youtube of Polo's with the BMC fitted and they sound awesome.

I will certaintly be getting one

Oem air feed is poop, The hole it sucks through is tiny compared to the gap on the cold feed, I have a pipercross viper, carbon fibre one and its foam based rather than the mesh cone! I doubt very much that this bmc will give 5bhp increase alone! Youl need alot more to get that figure, Im just happy with my noise mine makes, and i know my engine thanks me for giving it more air lol!

Lol yeah you cant beat that suction noise. My MG Metro sounds awesome when accelerating but thats got a bolt on K&N, I cant wait to get my Gti sorted with a BMC.

Exhaust, Manifold and Re-Map should maximise the potential of a BMC CDA
