The performance of my car seems to have drastically dropped overnight. It was fine on Friday, but when I took it out at 11pm last night, it felt a bit sluggish. Thought it just might be the cold. But on my way back a minute ago, I thought I'd take it for a 10 mile sprint to see how it fairs, and there's surely something up with it. Acceleration feels rubish compared to before and I feel quite a bit of turbo lag. Eg, cruising at 40 in 5th, foot down and hardly anything. Even accelerating from 40 in 4th seems rubbish...It's definitely not what it used to be.
Any ideas on what I should look for (and pics, cos I don't have a clue about engines)? It's a 1.4 TDi with a stage 1 custom code map.
Things I can think of are:
Dodgy boost pipe
Someone playing a prank and stuffing something up the exhaust or something
Turbo (please let it not be that)
Dodgy diesel (but this wouldn't happen overnight)
Tyres been let down a bit (will check tomorrow
Anyone with a VAG-COM in the North East?
