Lowering Springs

Post by wul3er »

Could some1 please help me find lowering springs for my 1.4 8v.

There is some out there but its hard getting them, So what i was wanting to know was what others types of cars would have the same suspension.

Please note this is for lowering springs only not a full kit.

To tell you the truth i don't really know what to compare them to as they're the first set i've ever got!! The handling's pretty good, but its not awesome, then again i've only changed the springs. It sits nice and low tho!!! I just got the 17s today, i had the standard 14s on them before and my exhaust would sometimes scrape the floor sometimes at a bump if i had more than one person at the back. Don't let that put you off tho.

I just put them on today. Actually i've only put three on today. There was some mix up at the depo and they're sending me the fourth one tomorrow int eh morning. I'll fit the fourth one then. Haven't rolled the arches yet, but they fit nicely. As long as i don't get more than one person at the back for the time being it'll be ok. Problem with the front wheels tho, theres a slight bump, well under the arches, almost where the mudflaps would go. The tyres rub against it just befor full lock. What do i do?? Think i'm gona try and file it down

I've got 205/40/17 falken tyres and the wheels have an offset of 40. I wouldn't need to file much of it down, it would just be few millimetres.

filing

it would prob be ok but you would remove the wax protection layer that is under the car to prevent rust! if you get some waxyol from halfords or underseal as its called it will help protect the metal.do you need the arches rolled are the catchng or anything? when do they rub and where at the back?

Yeah i'm gona get them rolled some time next week. Gona go back home to greenford. I live pretty close to styledynamax, but i never knew they existed; i'll give them a visit. The car only scrubs when i hit a bump, but it doesn't when i don't. It rubs against the inner lip of the arch, which i will be getting rolled. It's not as bad as people make it out to be, although i don't think i could have three people at back , but i had two the other day and it didn't scrub, but then again i did drive quite carefuly. It's all good and i am so chuffed i got them. They're in my sig, what do you think? I might put some pix of my car up soon.

P.S. It's a 5dr
