my first car!

Post by Wombteeth »

Hi,
just bought my first car. its a 1999 vw polo 1.0! there's a couple of things that need doing to it. my main priority is the wheels. they are in pretty bad contition. so i was thinking what can i put on it? i really like the polo gti wheels (BBS RX-II - off the mk5) but what size am i limited to? There's a set on ebay, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...m=280340668760

also im looking for a part. you can see on the photo below that i want the silver bit below the grille. whats this bit called and where can i find one?

They're a straight fit, don't worry about sizes.

And that is the grille surround.

Scrap yard, £5 probably at the most.

Err, well the link didn't work for me. But I wouldn't want to spend more than £900 on a Mk4 Polo to be fair, especially the 1L. :O

Without being rude, that isn't a great deal, but to be honest, if you got a decent car from it you're pretty much sorted and its not too bad!!

I managed to pick up my 1.6 2 years ago, 12 months tax and test, full service, 4 new tyres and a years guarantee, from a dealer at 1200.

To be fair though, thats all because my step mum is sick at haggling!!!

Mine is fully stacked with mods and for £1700 you could've had it lol.

However, I do know where you're coming from and if the car serves you good then I wouldn't complain either

I've just paid 1900 for a mint 1.6 GL, drives like a dream! If it does the job well and there are no mechanical problems, It's been worth the money. Enjoy the car :D
