I blew the same 16v box twice lol, I know how it feels!!!

CWX code boxes are hard to find so the easier option would be to use a CL box or something. However, due to the ratio's being shorter you'd be shifting through them much quicker. Quicker acceleration almost comical but you'd top out around 90-100mph I think.

Not sure if the mk5 boxes fit BUT you shouldn't anyway as the mk5 gti boxes are just as bad as the mk4 16v ones. Same issues with both as its the following model so you'd have issues with boxes and pedal boxes alike.

cheers guys,had the box recon'd today, luckily the local transmission place had a spare bell housing and diff,so i have it back now and should be on the road for stonor
