new turbo needed!!!
well ive finally come to terms that my turbo seals are on there way out as the smoking at idle has got worse! so here are my options just slap another k03s on, hybrid of a k03s or big turbo , awsome gti want silly money for the apr stage 3 , so does anyone know any hybrid turbo makers/sellers for under 800 notes??
ive got a set of tt injectors and 3" maf and a 3" downpipe all ready to go on i just need the turbo and a map! opinions welcome!

Re: new turbo needed!!!
Backdraft will recondtion your turbo and make it into a hybrid for 500ish nots or buy a new one for 800. CR turbos also do this but not sure the Forge TIP fits on there hybrid, think a LCR tip is needed. All you really need for the full hybrid package is a 4Bar FPR and probably a new clutch! Look into it myself but no-one up here is interested in fitting and mapping as they have never done it before!? Too far for me to travel to Badger5 too as i would also need to stay down there for (X) amount of days which just adds to the cost of it all

*** I also e mailed awesome about any other packages that they could offer apart from the APR stage 3, as i think they do custom mapping now, but never got back to me so thats that! lol
Re: new turbo needed!!!
get the CR turbos hybrid .. bigger inlet on the compressor means more power....
problem with all this tuning .. we remove cats and make exhausts big .. but this lack of back pressure is so not good for turbo seals ...
if you have the standard exhaust and no tuning so running the turbo at 0.6 bar it would probably go forever ... but heh thats no fun....
or whitegtopolo .. get a new downpipe fabbed and fit turbo from tt225/s3 with the injectors, MAF and exhaust gas temp sensor and run TT225 software
should work out cheaper than the hybrid...

Re: new turbo needed!!!
Can you offer some kind of deal for us Uk Polo members Jay for the hybrid turbo??? I mean everything all in, to supplying and fitting then mapping??? I want to use my two weeks off in july for a reason since am not going on holiday!
Re: new turbo needed!!!
Kenny - the trouble is jobs like that take too much of my time for too little profit ... my time is better spent doing what makes the business money... that is why I try to stick to just doing software.... if you have two weeks off then you will have plenty of time to remove the turbo... send away... get back and refit.... then look for some mapping...
The turbo isnt that bad to swap .. just very time consuming .. I could write you a quick guide on the quickest/easiest way to change.... first one I changed took me a weekend... and I'm no Mechanic..
The injectors just slot in almost...
Have a go ... it is really hard to mess it up

Re: new turbo needed!!!
if you take the turbo off then you can send it to CR turbos for the hybrid your self that will save some money just the mapping then
kenny im sure big can turbo a hybrid around very quick if needed or drop it off when your off will be a nice train ride for you

Re: new turbo needed!!!
im in two minds but deffo going either 225 bhp tt kit or a hybrid, hybrid is tempting as less stuff to modify and i have a 3" pipe waiting to go on!! any contacts for this turbo place you mention ??

Re: new turbo needed!!!
I look at it a little like this ... find TT225 turbo and then sell K03s and turbo has cost nothing ...
and remember later on you can get the K04 reworked for even more power
OFF TOPIC ... by the way I love my Beemer ... 600NM torque with RWD in an auto is just so much fun ... fast without effort and screaming engines...
