polo GTi? can-bus?

Quick question realy, ive got a fault coming up which im thinking is preventing me starting, the car is a 6n but has full GTi ARC code engine, engine loom, interior loom, imobilizer, clocks, and E.C.U, the fault im getting is, power train data bus, missing message from instrument cluster? does it run can bus??? cheers

does what run can-bus? GTI's? i think that is correct...the reason that my rev counter will never work in my 20v

The 6N2 GTI does NOT run a canbus system...
The 9N GTI DOES run a canbus system....
Im not sure if ARC is from a 6n2 or a 9n....
But in the 6N2 the ECU HAS to be able to talk to the clocks AND the ignition switch/imobiliser transponder before it will allow the engine to fire.
If you are trying to run some weird combination of clocks etc that are not coded together, you may need to get the ECU unlocked... there are companies that can do that... remove all of the security stuff for you!

i know, it works on the ibiza clocks....i can put one in but not too fussed as i know 2nd - 70mph, 3rd-100mph, 4th-120..
