Re: tdi fmic
get the seat sport one (from the pd160 cupra) or the forge one.
neither will need crash bar to be cut but depends how you mount it.
they both fit anyway.
and welcome

Re: tdi fmic
What he said
With a FMIC, striaght through pipe from the CAT onwards (£30ish?) and a stage 2 remap, you should be pushing ~190 BHP.
Welcome aboard.

Re: tdi fmic
correct me if i'm wrong people but that's the hard way of doing it?
you want a double pass intercooler so both the 'in' and 'out' pipes are on the left as you look at it.
but that obviously fits so it can easily be done.

Re: tdi fmic
another of a 'home made' one:

forgot to mention the double pass just makes it easier to get the pipes back to where they need to and will cost less as alot less piping needed.

Re: tdi fmic
Just avoid the FMICs of PD150 Golfs/Boras...not sure if they fit the Polo, but build quality is a bit pesky with plastic mountings snapping etc. One for the 9n3 GTi would probably fit, but you might have issues with the tubing. Anyway, the stock SMIC is good enough for a reliable 170ish BHP. On a PD100 I think better gains would be seen by fitting a PD130 turbo first and getting it mapped (Should see at least 160 BHP)...then you can think about PD130 injectors + FMIC. Just how I'd do it...nothing wrong with swapping out a FMIC first though, just bang/buck wise I reckon a turbo would be better.

Re: tdi fmic
i was looking at this one - http://www.polo9n.info/page.php?p=anlei ... upra%20TDI
its in german but gives a list of the parts etc and pictures look fairly easy to follow. there are figures floating about that for every 4 degress centigrade the air is cooled you gain 1 bhp. so the cooler the air into the engine the better!

Re: tdi fmic
for a pd130 (especially if going hybrid/200bhp+) the seat sport one. the one that came standard on the pd160 ibiza cupra, it's bigger and also fits better.
people will guess what i've done soon

Re: tdi fmic
yeah i was planning on doing the PD130 turbo and Injectors. a PD130 turbo from a VRS or a IBIZA CUPRA should fit straight on. correct?

Re: tdi fmic
go for a pd150 from the golf. then your ok for 200bhp.. get it hybrid if you can afford too and then you can get silly figures.
don't bother with a pd160 as they're rare and cost too much and basically same as pd150.
and you'll get bored of a pd130
