Polo wont start. Turn the key and it doesnt turn over. the starter motor isnt gone, its just not getting its +VE feed from the key. Is there a realy or any thing that can go and cause this to happen? or any common faults? ny help would be wicked. cheers peeps

Or does any one have a wiring diagram? or know where to dwnload one from?

When mine wouldn't start, it was the ignition switch that failed. The blowers, lights etc all worked up to the point you turn the key to turn the engine over, then everything would simply switch off :?

I haven't got a wiring diagram to hand I'm afraid :(

mine lets every thing turn on.... like the blowers and radio etc. then when you go to turn it over nothing happens but every thing like the radio etc stays on. You can get the ar started by taking a +ve feed straight from the battery to the starter...but i dont want to have to pop the bonnet every time i want to start it lol. i was hoping more people would of had this problem and been able to say its this relay you need to change lol or its def the ignition switch. i cant be bothered fault finding or running a new +ve to the starter and the ignition.

definite ignition switch. its a garage job to change aswell as its a pig to get out of the column

did you have this problem aswell then alex? i was thinking of taking it down the local garage to get it sorted. Im a leccie by trade but really cant be arsed tearing my car apart. I love it too muchto make hash of it..... and least if the garage do it then they get the blame not me haha.

I used to work at VW mate seen it all countless times! Ill tell you the diag procedure in a few mins when i have elsa up and running

Your a super star mate. Not got one reply over on club polo....much more friendly over here lol
