Cupra 160 FMIC
Hi Guys
Just been reading the fmic post and found the banging guide below
http://www.polo9n.info/page.php?p=anlei ... upra%20TDI
I'm going to see if i can get it tanslated as it looks really comprehensive.
I've been wondering though how much are all the parts and can you get them from Seat?
Has anyone fitted one or had one fitted? I'm really intersted in getting one but need could do with a bit more info on cost and availability
Cheers

Cheers for that mate, it's saved me a job
Has anyone got any idea of cost for one of these i think that the cost is going to be the deciding factor for me.

Re: Cupra 160 FMIC
Got a quote from Seat - with all the bits listed on the thread is comes to £887.17 inc VAT!!! Does anyone know what sort of performance increase you can expect?
Re: Cupra 160 FMIC
you could probly get a forge intercooler for that much. ive herd with other suitable mods u can get around 20bhp from the intercooler aswell. however thats wat i "herd". it ll prbly just drive how ur car drives when its cold

Re: Cupra 160 FMIC
Not enough to justify that figure! 10-18bhp max? As zedzo said you could probably get Forge for much less herefore making the upgrade more cost justifiable. A recommended upgrade IMHO but not at that price!SimonCorrigan wrote:Got a quote from Seat - with all the bits listed on the thread is comes to £887.17 inc VAT!!! Re: Cupra 160 FMIC
What engine is it for?
Teh seat on is alot better than the forge one, it's slightly bigger and in general is a bit better
If your just wanting an intercooler for a bit of performance then i'd go for something like a Focus ST one, it's small but effective and you can pick them up for ~£50 on ebay and then another ~£75-100 on piping and it's done.

What intercooler is on the VRS Pip? is it that same as the polo or is it more like the cupra's?

What are you going to do about the piping, getting some made up or can you modify the standard ones?

Re: Cupra 160 FMIC
as it's a single pass i would need to run the pipe back on its self. (thats what will cost most)
tbh it's only a little bigger in surface area than the standard SMIC, but been on the front will be 100 times more efficient.
imho looks good too..

Re: Cupra 160 FMIC
£200 at the most..
but don't expect to be able to runover 200+bhp.
this is my solution to get me to about 190ish.
i think it's a great idea, no one else seems to think so though
